Ms. Romanetha Walker
Welcome to William Penn Middle School

Dear 7th grade Parents and Students:

Welcome to the 2018-19 school year! We have high expectations for every student on our team and are looking forward to an enjoyable and successful year. In addition to our challenging academic curriculum, we have planned many exciting and enriching activities. Remember, a team is a partnership and its success depends on every one of us. Let’s work together to make this a fantastic year!

Classroom Expectations
In a mutually respectful classroom, teaching and learning happens best when:
I come to school in complete uniform. (No coats/jackets/hoodies will be allowed to be worn during class. Red sweaters for cold climate days.)
I have my supplies and materials for class each day.
There are no distractions or problems during instruction and procedures are followed.
One person speaks at a time after raising their hand to be recognized.
Routine behaviors occur after instruction for the entire class is complete.
Class is dismissed by the teacher when the classroom is clean.
Consequences for students who choose not to be a part of creating an excellent learning environment include:
3 Warnings
Monday or Friday from 2:30-3:30pm, Saturday 10:00am - 12:00pm
Discipline Referral
Please contact individual teachers to request additional help for students.

Makeup Work:
Any makeup work is the responsibility of the student. All assignments must be made up within 5 days after the student returns to school. If a test or project was previously announced before the student’s absence, he/she should be prepared to complete the assignment upon their return to school. In the event of a lengthy absence, please contact the school to pick up assignments.
Every Friday, students will be engaged part of the day participating in a variety of activities selected to enhance their middle school experience. Teachers will mentor their homeroom students throughout the year to promote character, communication, and healthy life styles. We are looking forward to this opportunity to get to know our students better.

Please feel free to contact me with any concerns you may have at (773)534-1665.
